Assistant Manager - Special Products Group Engineering

As an Assistant Manager in the Special Products Group at Emerson, you will be responsible for supporting the application engineering team for projects & MRO in AP & KOB1 from Fisher Chennai Engineering Center. Your role will involve managing the FCEC team, coordinating with the Singapore SPG team, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. You will also be involved in performance management, team development & coaching, creating monthly reports, providing technical training, and maintaining team documents for ISO audit process. Roles and Responsibilities: - Manage the FCEC team and coordinate with the Singapore SPG team on day-to-day work. - Mentor and guide team members to achieve their full potential through continuous feedback and growth opportunities. - Support the Functional Leader on the teams goals and priorities aligned with organizational objectives. - Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment promoting trust, respect, and employee engagement. - Monitor the progress of team members' goals, hold individuals accountable, and reward & recognize their achievements & performance. - Enhance relationships and networks with senior internal/external partners. - Solve complex technical problems and exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. - Create monthly reports, calculate team performance, and report to management. - Provide SPG costing & technical training to new engineers. - Check quotes to ensure error-free quotes are sent to Sales. - Share technical information in internal training sessions and industry expertise sessions. Qualifications Required: - In-depth knowledge of control valve products and industry applications. - Minimum 10 years of experience in control valve engineering. - Good understanding of product specifications and costing processes. - Awareness of Fisher products and accessories. - Degree in Mechanical/Instrumentation/Chemical/Metallurgical Engineering preferred. - Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ready to take up new challenges and effective team player for on-time project submission. - Good knowledge of Inactive/obsolete/Competitor products. - Ability to develop and present innovative solutions for problems.
