About the role
In this role as a Drafter, your responsibilities will include: - Developing, managing, and maintaining comprehensive product documentation, including 3D models, assemblies, layout schematics, detailed drawings, engineering master data, and part numbers. - Applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards to enhance design precision and manufacturing efficiency. - Providing cross-functional technical support related to engineering drawings and documentation. - Delivering accurate and complete technical documentation and 3D models required for production and manufacturing activities. - Initiating and assessing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and updating existing models in line with design revisions. - Conducting design calculations and performing tolerance stack-up analyses using both manual techniques and computer-aided tools. - Supporting business unit initiatives and contributing to project execution aligned with organizational objectives. - Developing and maintaining engineering standards that establish clear, efficient, and effective methodologies for drawing preparation. To excel in this role, you will need: - A Degree or Diploma or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering. - Minimum 2 years of CAD-related Experience. - Ability to produce fully detailed machine drawings. - Experience in generating 2D drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.5 practices. - Proficiency in 3D CAD Modeling (SolidWorks). - Knowledge and ability to create/load/store 3D models from 2D sketches and/or drawings. - Proficiency in using 3D models to define areas, mass, volumes, center-of-gravity, and other properties. Preferred qualifications that set you apart include: - Proficiency in MS Office. - Knowledge of GD&T (Symbology). - Ability to use Microsoft Excel formulas for calculations. - General understanding of materials properties (primarily metals). - General understanding of castings, forgings, machining, welding, and stampings. - Solid understanding of ASME, ANSI, and other industry codes and standards.
