Role Overview: As an Engineering Manager at Semiconductor System R&D, you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary development team, managing projects from conception to release, and ensuring the successful execution of programs to meet scope, cost, and timeline goals. You will play a crucial role in driving project features, staffing needs, and maintaining aggressive timelines while focusing on long-term quality and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: - Motivate and engage a diverse team of technicians, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers - Manage projects through the System Development Process phases to drive project features, staffing needs, and schedule - Accountable for plan development and program execution to meet scope, cost, and timeline goals - Drive efforts to mitigate risks and make tradeoff decisions within and across projects - Collaborate with other managers and organizations to manage project dependencies - Identify resource needs, secure internal and external resources, and adjust resource assignments as needed - Recommend investment changes to build a more effective team - Ensure efficient collaboration with R&D teams, manufacturing, hardware services, compliance, test engineering, and other supporting teams - Communicate program status, tradeoffs, and risks to collaborators, including senior executives - Directly manage team members by coaching them, removing roadblocks, and prioritizing their development and career growth - Resolve issues, anticipate problems, and think through multiple perspectives for the best overall solution - Influence technical discussions and key business trade-offs to facilitate decisions - Prioritize your time effectively to make the best day-to-day decisions for yourself, your team, and your projects Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) - 8+ years of combined professional experience, including project and schedule management - Proven project management skills - Strong cross-functional collaboration skills - Experience working with various geographies and functions - Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work in an ambiguous environment - Proficient in multitasking and maintaining attention to detail - Ability to prioritize projects and tasks effectively Additional Company Details (if present): Emerson prioritizes a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
