Vice President - Engineering - FinTech/Payments

As the VP of Engineering in the Fintech/Payments industry, you will play a crucial role in leading the technology strategy and product delivery while collaborating with company-wide stakeholders. Your focus will be on managing the engineering teams, implementing the technology vision, ensuring security and quality, people management, and cross-company alignment. Core Responsibilities: - Plan and execute the technical roadmap with the Co-Founder to align with broader business goals. - Ensure high-quality product delivery by the engineering teams as per the plan. - Strategize with clear goals and timelines, addressing risks and ensuring effective delivery. - Provide necessary resources and support for team success. - Monitor and improve engineering processes and methodologies for increased efficiency. Implementation of Technology Vision and Strategy: - Align with the company's technology vision and co-design the technology strategy with the Co-founders. - Drive effective implementation of the technology strategy. Security, Consistency & Quality: - Oversee secure development and deployment of applications. - Collaborate to earn required security certifications and maintain high standards of security. - Maintain consistency in products, design, and coding standards. People Management & Cross-company Alignment: - Conduct 1:1s, recruit new hires, identify skills gaps, and provide training and mentoring opportunities. - Drive cross-company engagement for alignment and collaboration. - Ensure execution of company policies and contribute to re-designing them for a productive work environment. Expected Skills: - Strong technical expertise in popular technology stacks like Java and Spring Boot. - Understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS and GCP. - Curious about latest trends and technologies. - Effective communication with both technical and non-technical audiences. - Problem-solving skills for complex technical issues. - Long-term planning ability with short-term execution focus. - Mentoring and coaching skills. Qualifications & Background Desired: - 10-15 years of overall software development and engineering management experience. - 5+ years of managerial experience leading multiple teams. - Proven execution in B2C and B2B environments, preferably in Fintech product companies. - Experience in high-growth startup environments. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-group coordination.
