Product Owner – Compliance & Commerce

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead backlog ownership and delivery execution across Compliance Software and Commerce Retail Technology platforms. This role operates in a hybrid domain environment, supporting regulatory-driven SaaS products and retail transaction systems, including POS , Inventory Management , and Audit & Compliance Platforms . The Product Owner will collaborate closely with Engineering, UX, QA, Compliance Stakeholders, and Retail Operations to transform roadmap initiatives into high-quality, scalable product features delivered through Agile Scrum methodologies. DOMAIN SCOPE Compliance Software Regulatory documentation systems Quality Management Systems (QMS) Global audit trail and compliance reporting platforms Regulatory workflows aligned with international standards and data privacy laws Commerce & Retail Technology Point-of-Sale (POS) systems Inventory management and synchronization platforms Specialized retail systems supporting second-hand resale commerce Mobile and field-level retail applications KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Product Ownership & Agile Delivery Own and manage the product backlog across Compliance and Commerce domains Translate business requirements into user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria Prioritize backlog items based on business value, risk, and technical dependencies Lead sprint planning, grooming, reviews, and retrospectives Ensure timely and predictable delivery aligned with roadmap objectives Compliance Product Responsibilities Define requirements for audit trails, version control, and regulatory data logging Translate global compliance and safety standards into functional software requirements Support compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, product safety laws) Partner with domain experts to enable automated compliance workflows and reporting Commerce & Retail Product Responsibilities Optimize POS workflows for high-volume, fast-paced retail environments Ensure real-time inventory synchronization between POS and backend systems Collaborate on retail UI/UX improvements for operational efficiency and accuracy Support retail analytics, transaction processing, and inventory traceability AI, Automation & Data Enablement Identify opportunities for AI-assisted compliance monitoring , anomaly detection, and document automation Define requirements for predictive analytics in retail and inventory optimization Collaborate with engineering teams on rule engines, automation logic, and data pipelines Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams Manage multiple user personas, including compliance officers, auditors, retail managers, and store staff Maintain clear documentation using Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 68 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst in B2B SaaS Proven experience working with Agile Scrum development teams Strong understanding of SDLC , backlog management, and release planning Experience with at least one domain: Compliance Regulatory QMS software Retail POS Inventory ERP systems Ability to balance and prioritize work across multiple product streams TECHNICAL & TOOL REQUIREMENTS Agile tools: Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps (ADO) Strong documentation and requirement-writing skills Familiarity with: POS systems and transactional workflows Regulatory documentation systems or audit platforms Data-driven product decision-making PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Agile certifications: CSPO, PMI-ACP, SAFe PO/PM Experience in Global Capability Centers (GCCs) Exposure to AI, automation, or analytics-enabled products Retail, resale/second-hand commerce, or regulated industry experience
