Role Description This is a full-time, in office SAP ABAP Developer role based in the Pune Division, with an immediate joining requirement. The SAP ABAP Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain custom ABAP programs and enhancements in line with business requirements and SAP best practices. Daily activities include working with functional teams to translate specifications into technical solutions, developing and optimizing reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms. The role also involves troubleshooting and resolving ABAP-related issues, performing code reviews, and ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability of SAP developments. The developer will document technical designs, support system upgrades and rollouts, and collaborate with global teams to align developments with ENGEL standards. Qualifications : - Strong SAP development expertise, including Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP), with hands-on experience in classical and modern ABAP features. - Solid programming fundamentals, including Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with a focus on clean, maintainable, and efficient code. - Experience with SAP integration technologies such as IDoc and BAPI, including design, implementation, monitoring, and troubleshooting. - Understanding of SAP modules (e.g., SD, MM, PP, FI/CO) and ability to work closely with functional consultants to deliver end-to-end solutions. - Proficiency in performance tuning, debugging, unit testing, and use of SAP development tools (SE80, SE37, SE11, SE24, etc.). - Ability to analyze business requirements, prepare technical specifications, and provide accurate effort estimates. - Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills are an advantage. - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Previous experience as an SAP ABAP Developer in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred; willingness to join immediately is highly desirable.
