We are looking for someone to help us build that future.We are looking for a motivated, curious, and purpose-driven individual who sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence and environmental sustainability. This is not a purely technical role. It equally demands sustainability thinking, creative problem-solving, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact. You will work closely with EMCs sustainability specialists and leadership to research, design, prototype, and iterate on a portfolio of AI-powered sustainability solutions.Key Responsibilities Work alongside EMCs sustainability specialists and leadership to identify where AI can add value, understand client needs, and translate domain expertise into clear product and platform requirements. Help research, design, prototype, and iterate on a range of AI-powered sustainability applications across EMCs portfolio from agentic copilots and AI-assisted learning tools to sustainability assessment and analytics platforms. Research and integrate AI/ML techniques relevant to EMCs sustainability consulting practice. Contribute to vibe-coding sessions, rapid, exploratory prototyping of new ideas using AI-assisted coding tools, in line with EMCs commitment to strategic innovation. Support testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of deployed tools, keeping them reliable and aligned with EMCs responsible AI policy.Qualifications & Educational BackgroundFormal Education A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Formal academic training in sustainability is not a prerequisite. EMC values passion, intellectual curiosity, and a demonstrated interest in the field over formal credentials alone. Candidates with a strong aspiration to pursue postgraduate studies in AI and Sustainability Science, Sustainability Management, or closely related programmes are strongly encouraged to apply. EMC actively invests in the learning and development of its team members.Experience Level This role is designed for early-career professionals (typically 03 years of experience) who are eager to grow within EMCs culture of mentorship-driven development.Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills Familiarity with software system design fundamentals, including user authentication, session management, and relational / non-relational databases. A solid grasp of the foundations and the enthusiasm to learn further is entirely sufficient; deep expertise is not required at the point of joining. Familiarity with full-stack web development basics: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a working understanding of frameworks such as ReactJS and Next.js. The ability and willingness to learn more is valued equally with existing experience. Familiarity with Git and GitHub for version control, or a clear commitment to becoming proficient quickly. Openness and enthusiasm for vibe-coding using AI-assisted tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to prototype and explore solutions rapidly, even in unfamiliar territory.AI & Sustainability Knowledge Understanding of core AI/ML concepts and the ability to apply them to real-world sustainability challenges, consistent with EMCs responsible AI policy. Awareness of major sustainability and ESG reporting frameworks (GRI, BRSR, TCFD, SBTi, UN SDGs, Circular Economy principles) is a plus; comprehensive knowledge is not required at joining. Ability to critically assess environmental data, identify trends, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.Soft Skills & Mindset Genuine passion for sustainability and a long-term career commitment to the field, aligned with EMCs core value of Sustainability Leadership. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Comfortable working in a flat, non-hierarchical, agile environment with evolving requirements.
