Quality Assurance Tester (Speech to Text Testing)

Experience: 3+ Years About the Role We are looking for a QA Engineer with hands-on experience testing Speech-to-Text (STT) applications and AI-powered voice products. You will be responsible for validating transcription accuracy, conversational flows, audio quality, multilingual recognition, and the overall reliability of speech-based systems. This role requires someone who understands both traditional software testing and the unique challenges of voice AI, including accents, noisy environments, latency, and transcription quality. Responsibilities Design and execute manual and automated test cases for Speech-to-Text applications.Validate transcription accuracy across different accents, dialects, speaking speeds, and audio qualities.Test voice input from multiple sources including microphone, phone calls, uploaded audio, and streaming audio.Verify punctuation, capitalization, speaker separation, timestamps, and formatting of transcripts.Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing.Test multilingual and code-mixed speech recognition (e.g., English + Hindi).Identify edge cases involving background noise, overlapping speakers, silence, interruptions, and poor network conditions.Validate API responses for speech recognition services.Report, prioritize, and track defects using Jira or similar tools.Work closely with AI Engineers, Backend Developers, and Product Managers to reproduce and resolve issues.Participate in sprint planning, grooming, and release validation.Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports. Required Skills 3+ years of Software QA experience.Experience testing Speech-to-Text (STT), Voice AI, Conversational AI, or Audio Processing applications.Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.Experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools.Good understanding of JSON and API payload validation.Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira.Familiarity with SQL for data validation.Strong analytical and debugging skills.Excellent documentation and communication skills.
