About the role
About this chance: As a CNIS Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, administration, and lifecycle management of Ericssons CNIS-based infrastructure. This includes deep hands-on work in Kubernetes platforms, Cloud-Native networking, Rook/Ceph storage, and CNF onboarding for 5G core networks and telecom workloads. Key Responsibilities: CNIS Deployment & Operations - Install and configure CNIS platforms on bare-metal or virtual infrastructure. - Set up and manage ECCD/Kubernetes clusters using tools like Rancher (RKE2), CEE, or kubeadm. - Configure CNI plugins (Multus, Calico, SR-IOV) and CSI drivers (Rook/Ceph). - Manage Day to Day operations for CNFs including Helm deployments, scaling, and upgrades and troubleshooting for existing opration Issues. Infrastructure & Storage - Manage Rook-Ceph clusters and troubleshoot persistent storage issues. - Monitor hardware health (compute/storage/network) and ensure infrastructure compliance. - Support cluster high availability, resilience, and performance tuning. - Syslog, PKI Knowledge and experience. Networking & Security - Hands on experience on SDI/Juniper/Extreme SLX switches. - Configure pod and service networking, BGP peering, VLAN/VXLAN overlays, and L2/L3 IP planning. - Implement and audit network policies, RBAC, and security postures using standard Kubernetes practices. - Integrate LDAP/Keycloak/SSO for user authentication and IAM. - Hands on on ESM. Monitoring & Troubleshooting - Integrate Prometheus/Grafana, EFK/ELK or Loki for observability. - Use kubectl, ceph, and Linux tools for troubleshooting nodes, pods, storage, and networking. - Analyse CNF behaviour during failures and generate RCA documentation. - Use Netcool & OMC for monitoring. Required Skills & Experience: - 212 years of experience in cloud-native infrastructure or telco platforms. - Strong hands-on in Kubernetes (certifications like CKA/CNCF preferred). - Expertise in - CNIs (Multus, Calico, SR-IOV) - Storage (Rook/Ceph, CSI) - Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) - Networking (L2/L3, BGP, VLAN, IPAM, Juniper/Extreme Switches) - Experience with - Helm, YAML, Git - Ericsson tools: ENM, CENX, EO-EVNFM, OMC & ESM. - Familiarity with Ericsson CNIS framework is strongly preferred.
