About the role
As a Mid-Level QA Engineer at Aviz Networks, you will be joining the core networking software team of an AI-driven networking company. Your role will involve uncovering issues in complex systems and playing a critical part in reproducing, analyzing, and preventing challenging customer-found defects in L2/L3 networking environments. Key Responsibilities: - Customer-Focused Issue Reproduction & Analysis: Work closely with support and development teams to reproduce high-priority, real-world customer issues. Simulate complex network environments and help narrow down problematic areas. - Deep-Dive Testing & Debugging: Leverage advanced tools and logs to identify subtle defects such as memory leaks, race conditions, and system-level anomalies. Conduct forensic analysis of test failures. - Root Cause Assistance & Verification: Collaborate with developers to perform root cause analysis and validate fixes. Design regression and edge-case tests to ensure long-term product stability. - Automation & Test Development: Build and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, and system-level testing. Focus on increasing coverage for complex networking scenarios. - Quality Advocacy: Participate in design and code reviews, contributing to testability, reliability, and defect prevention discussions. Proactively identify risk areas in the system. Core Qualifications: - Proven experience as a QA/Test Engineer or in a sustenance/debugging role, preferably in networking or embedded systems domains. - Networking Expertise: Solid understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols and real-world deployment use cases. Hands-on experience in using Networking test equipment. - Linux Debugging Skills: Hands-on experience with advanced Linux tools for performance and system analysis, such as: perf for profiling trace, lsof, and dmesg for tracing and diagnostics Valgrind, ASAN, and MSAN for memory debugging Familiarity with tcpdump, Wireshark for packet analysis. - Programming & Scripting: Strong scripting (Python/Bash) skills for automation.
