About the role
Responsibilities: Build Android features with robust background work, offline resiliency, and security.Partner with backend teams on API contracts; optionally contribute to services/APIs.Improve performance and reliability (startup, ANR, jank, crash-free %) and drive technical debt paydown.Lead or participate in on-call rotations for Android components; define/enhance SLIs/SLOs.Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering standards.Use AI tools to improve velocity while maintaining quality and security. Requirements: 2-8 years of Android development experience.Experience building and maintaining production systems.Understanding of Android (Kotlin/Java), Jetpack, concurrency, background work, networking, storage, and permissions.Great to have Testing discipline and CI/CD; Git and modern workflows.Understanding of client-server interactions and API consumption.Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools and workflows, including familiarity with agentic AI approaches. Bonus: Experience with MDM or device management systems.Good at Android Enterprise; AOSP.Familiarity with CI/CD.Familiarity with MQTT/Websocket.
