Backend Software Developer

Job Description You will be part of Vestas Technology & Operations, specifically the Modelling & Analytics - Plant Reporting, Optimization & Control (PROC) team. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and maintaining backend services using Python - Working with AWS Lambda-based APIs and serverless components - Building and evolving REST APIs and event-driven components - Collaborating with frontend teams (Angular 13+) for seamless backend integration - Contributing to improving reliability and overall stability of backend services In addition, you will be expected to: - Apply established design and coding standards, aligning implementations with existing AWS serverless architectural patterns - Participate in technical discussions and code reviews - Work with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools - Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, and Data Engineering teams on feature design Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should have: - An Engineering graduate or equivalent education - Minimum 5 years of backend engineering experience - Strong proficiency in Python: REST API development, Asynchronous programming concepts, Modular and maintainable code design - Hands-on experience developing APIs using AWS Lambda (serverless architecture) - Strong working experience with core AWS services, including API Gateway, IAM, S3 & Event-driven services (e.g., SQS, SNS) - Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) - Exposure to NoSQL databases - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows - Nice to have experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar tools), integrating backend services with Angular 13+ applications, and working with large-scale event processing or telemetry data systems Competencies In this role, you will need: - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work collaboratively in a globally distributed agile team - Eagerness to learn, experiment, and adapt to new technologies - Proactive ownership mindset with good communication skills - Passion for working on products that enable renewable energy and sustainability Additional Information Your primary workplace will be in Bangalore, India.
