AS400 Administrator

Job description

Primarily responsible for the administration of IBM iSeries, (servers, multiple partitions), including message handling, command line utilities, work management, job and print control, device management, system configuration, system.

Assist in the administration of IBM iSeries computer software.

Data Importing and scrubbing. Knowledge of MS-SQL Databases.

Setup, monitor, and analyse memory allocation, shared pools, subsystems, disk utilization, CPU utilization, logs, devices, job queues and make recommendations as needed.

Support existing Users, Application Development and Operations of the IBM AS400.

Administer the Application Programs and updates, in all System partitions.

Monitor and administer system capacities and constraints.

Technical Support for the IBM AS400 to include troubleshooting.

Perform architecture reviews, infrastructure design, maintenance, and support activities for the AS400 environment.

Job requirement:

Knowledge of IBM iSeries system administration and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of IBM iSeries networked systems, access and security guidelines and procedures.

Understanding of internal controls and change management processes.

Skill in solving technically challenging problems involving IBM iSeries based application and hardware issues.

software development skills in at least one of: RPG, ILE or COBOL
