Automation Tester (Cypress)

Location: Knutsford

Duration: 3 months + extensions

Job Description:

• Candidate will be ensuring defects are kept to a minimum across both Functional and Automated Testing

• Candidate will be assisting in the construction of testing frameworks, advising on tooling usage and effectiveness

• Candidate will be using your understanding of Agile to reduce the feedback cycle for developers to enable superior code quality

• Candidate will be working to facilitate UI testing within a Test/Behaviour Driven Development environment

• Candidate will be building testing tools with modern tools and practices, e.g. Cypress and Contract Testing

• Candidate will be managing business requirements to understand how system requirements fit within the overall business solution, challenging incomplete or unclear requirements

• Candidate will be challenging innovation by recognizing newly arising opportunities for improving customer satisfaction

• Candidate will be promoting and driving stewardship and application best practices within the development team, improving the delivery of software products

Skills needed

• • Good experience in UI Test Automation and automated test data creation across multiple browsers, using Cypress

• • Ability to code (JavaScript and Java) as well as knowledge of JQuery, JSON and XML

• • Jira or similar ALM tools, e.g. Confluence or Git

• • Knowledge of automated testing, continuous integration tools (preferably Jenkins) and deployment tools and practices, including Cypress and BrowserStack or similar

• • Experience of working within Financial Services or within a regulatory driven change environment

• • ISEB/ISTQB Qualifications
