Azure Migration Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer with expertise in Azure cloud migrations to lead and execute cloud migration initiatives. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of cloud solution design, migration strategies, and identity & access management (IAM) in Azure, ensuring compliance with security policies and industry best practices. You will play a critical role in designing scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Cloud Migration: Lead end-to-end migration of on-premises or multi-cloud workloads to Azure, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless transitions.

Solution Architecture & Design: Design secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud solutions aligned with business objectives and best practices.

Identity & Access Management (IAM): Implement and manage Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), role-based access control (RBAC), and privileged identity management (PIM) to ensure secure access control.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Deploy and manage cloud resources using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep for automation and scalability.

Networking & Security: Configure Azure Virtual Networks (VNet), VPNs, ExpressRoute, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and Azure Firewall to optimize security and connectivity.

Azure Security Implementation: Ensure cloud security by implementing and managing Azure Security Center, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and security baselines.

Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with industry security standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS benchmarks, and implement Azure Policy for governance.

Cost Optimization & Governance: Implement cost-effective solutions and governance policies using Azure Cost Management , tagging strategies, and monitoring tools.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.

Collaboration & Documentation: Work with stakeholders, Internal teams, and security teams to ensure smooth migration and operational efficiency, while maintaining clear documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on Azure migrations.

Expertise in designing and executing cloud migration strategies, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and modernization approaches.

Hands-on experience with Azure Migrate, ASR (Azure Site Recovery), and Database Migration Services.

Strong understanding of Azure Active Directory (AAD), RBAC, MFA, and Conditional Access Policies.

Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates.

Experience with Azure networking components (VNet, NSG, VPN, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers, Private Link, etc.).

Knowledge of security best practices, encryptions,

Knowledge of Azure Security Center, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Sentinel, and security monitoring solutions.

Strong scripting skills in PowerShell

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure Certifications preferred.

• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integration with on-premises infrastructure.

• Familiarity with Azure Migration and database migration strategies (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
