Batch Operations
Job Summary (Overview of the Job)
• Fully responsible for the main support to all the workload automation initiative and effort for Batch Operations, Infrastructure and business applications functions
• Act as the main contact point to understand and analyse business requirements of workload automation.
• Act as the main party to support BAU activities including daily environment health check, job status monitoring and support in incident investigation, license usage control and reporting.
• Support shift work.
Key Responsibilities (List the duties or task performed critical to success)
• The incumbent shall be responsible for the following roles and responsibilities of workload automation, but not limited to:
• Be the main support contact for all the workload automation initiative and effort
• Support all business environments including development, UAT, production and disaster recovery
• Support all technology platforms of UNIX, Windows, AS/400, either on-premise or on cloud
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery exercise
• Understand and collect the business requirements from the infrastructure and application teams
• Design the automated flow in accordance to the new or amended business requirements
• Perform testing of the flow and obtain business sign-off
• Managing the change requests into production environment
• Present workload automation monthly efficiency report
• Present workload automation license usage report, including working with application owners to optimize jobs ordering and provide advisory for additional license procurement
• Record and upkeep all workload automation environment inventory including end clients
• Record and upkeep all privilege and support IDs including the necessary permission / sanctions
• Record and upkeep all workload automation firewall rules
• Support application owners in firewall rules requisition
• Provide service and incident request tickets update and closure
Expected Job Requirement (knowledge, skills and abilities)
• A minimum of 5 years working experience with workload automation environment preferably BMC Control-M tool
• Knowledge of workload automation environment, specifically BMC Control-M tool is mandatory
• Knowledge to perform operating system (UNIX / Windows) and tool level basic administrative tasks is required
• Knowledge of scripting is required
• Knowledge of Jobs-As-Code is required
• Knowledge of file transfer protocol or tool is required
• Knowledge of network connectivity and firewall rules is required
• Knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery is required
• Basic knowledge of pipeline automation is an added advantage
• Basic knowledge of AS/400 environment is an added advantage
• Basic soft skills of communication and courtesy are required
