About the role
Job Title: Cloud Expert
Location: Brussels, Belgium (hybrid – the candidate can work remotely but needs to reside within 2h travelling time from Brussels, cross-border can be also considered)
Duration: Long Term Contract
What will you be bringing to the team?:
Provide technical support to the DevSecOps team
Offer architectural counsel to development teams, mentoring on security technologies
Manage DevSecOps pipeline planning and upgrades
Facilitate continuous IT application delivery using ALM and automation
Champion DevSecOps methodologies for IT projects
Architect secure solutions for APIs, containers, and cloud environments
Evaluate and recommend technical solutions, including vendor product assessments
Collaborate with data experts on data-centric architecture
Define and maintain architectural frameworks, processes, and standards
Design security controls and procedures for public cloud systems
Implement security and data protection solutions in public cloud
Develop metrics and dashboards for effectiveness measurement
Review existing system architectures for cloud migration
Assess systems for discrepancies or vulnerabilities
Conduct operational research for improvement
Define, review, and facilitate cloud exit strategies
Engage with business analysts, solution architects, project leaders, and developers
What do you need to succeed in this position?:
Hold a Master's degree
Hold at least one of the following certifications (or equivalent):
Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP) certification
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert
Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
Have minimum 5 years of experience with public cloud environments (AWS or Azure)
Have at least 3 years of expertise in cloud architecture and security fundamentals, including containers, software-defined networks, high availability design, multi-cloud, and serverless compute
Have at least 2 years of strong experience as a DevSecOps expert, covering Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), CI/CD and pipelines (e.g., Gitlab), Docker, Kubernetes, and similar technologies
Have 3+ years of experience in automation scripting using Python, Perl, bash, or similar Linux scripting
Have at least 3 years of experience in Linux management
Hold a minimum 3 years of experience working in Agile/Sprint-based IT project methodologies
Proficiency in cloud technologies and infrastructure.
Familiarity with cloud migration, native cloud development, enterprise logging, monitoring solutions, and log analysis.
Expertise in AWS and/or Azure, focusing on solution delivery, application migration, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Strong knowledge of monolithic applications, microservices architecture, from design to deployment and instrumentation.
Understanding of secure application design and development in the cloud.
Solid grasp of network architecture, network security, TCP/IP, network virtualization, and software-defined networks.
Proficiency in scripting and secure configurations for mainstream Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with cloud logging, reporting, and monitoring solutions.
Experience with relational database management systems (e.g., MS SQL, Oracle) and handling large databases (minimum 5TB).
Knowledge of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Artificial Intelligence technologies.
Proficiency on English at C1 level.
