Role: DataStage Developer
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled DataStage and Talend Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes to support enterprise data integration, data warehousing, and analytics initiatives. The candidate will work with large datasets and ensure efficient data movement, transformation, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
ETL Development
Design, develop, and maintain ETL jobs using IBM DataStage and/or Talend
Build reusable components and frameworks for data integration
Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability
Data Integration & Processing
Extract, transform, and load (ETL/ELT) data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, flat files, cloud)
Handle structured and semi-structured data
Implement data validation, cleansing, and transformation rules
Data Warehouse Support
Work on data warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake schema, fact/dimension tables)
Support data marts and reporting systems
Ensure accurate and timely data availability for BI tools
Performance Tuning
Analyze job performance and optimize ETL workflows
Handle large data volumes efficiently
Debug and troubleshoot ETL failures
Collaboration
Work with business analysts, data architects, and developers
Understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Participate in agile development processes (Scrum, sprint planning)
Documentation & Governance
Document ETL processes, workflows, and data mappings
Ensure adherence to data governance and security standards
Maintain version control and deployment processes
Required Skills
Strong experience in:
IBM DataStage (Parallel Jobs, Server Jobs)
Talend (Talend Open Studio / Talend Data Integration)
Strong SQL knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.)
Hands-On Experience
ETL design and development
Data modeling concepts
Additional Skills:
Experience with Unix/Linux scripting (Shell)
Preferred / Keyword Skills
