Job Description

Role: DB2 DBA and Database Performance Tuning Expert.

Essential Skills:

Proven experience in DB2 DB bottleneck analysis, outage prevention/resolution, advance server/database performance improvements and troubleshooting.

Hands-on DB2 configuration support of SAP ISU, CRM, and PI applications.

Handle database capacity planning, performance tuning and backup and recovery plan to ensure availability of database services;

The candidate must have advanced knowledge base of relational database performance and tuning such as: proper use of indexes, database statistics/reorgs, de-normalization concepts, memory management, database configurations, etc.

Take part in technical and business discussion, share ideas and provide feedback in continuing the improvement of the database support and performance issues.

Working with the application development team to ensure that appropriate and efficient SQL is being coded and tested.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience of DB2 Database administration on Linux/Client-Unix Technology is a must.

• Highly skilled in optimization of SQL queries or stored procedures to improve application effectiveness and performance

• Strong written and communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders and senior management

• Familiar with best practices and principles of database management, security, accesses and regulations

• Engineering on New DB2 features and IBM tools.

• Knowledge on performance monitoring tools like OPM
