DevOps Kafka and SS Role

General DevOps Skills

· Experience with software engineering practices such as code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, deployment, release and change management

· Experience configuring and managing continuous integration servers (e.g. Jenkins, TeamCity etc)

· Strong scripting skills (e.g. Bash, Python, Groovy, Perl)

· Strong practical Linux systems administration skills

· Understanding of microservices and distributed architecture

· Adoption of DevOps best practices

Key Responsibilities:

Kafka Admin

· Guide building and delivering reliable, scalable and secure business systems.

· Configuring maintaining multiple Confluent Kafka Clusters

· Version upgrades, Setting up DR solution and strategy with HA

· Automation for areas like maintenance, alerts, new topic creation, security implementation, etc.

· Fine tuning brokers for various use cases.

· Setting up RBAC.

· Configuring various Kafka connectors

· Working with various application teams and architects to help them adopt Kafka for their use cases.

Streamsets Admin

· Configuring, maintaining and upgrading Data Collectors

· On prem control hub maintenance , upgrades etc.

· Data pipeline deployments, debug and trouble shooting.

· Automation for configuration, monitoring etc.

· Setup and maintaining PostgreSQL and InfluxDB

· Implement Clusters which are highly available and scalable

· Working with various application teams and architects to help them adopt Streamsets for their use cases.

· Knowledge of IP networking, DNS, load balancing and firewalls
