DevOps Operator for JAVA

Role overview

In the journey of reshaping our organization to better adopt real DevOps methodologies, we are building a team responsible for the “Ops” aspects, closely collaborating with the development team and actively interacting with the traditional 2nd/3rd level support team. This position should help alleviate the time-consuming deployment process in all environments (DEV / 2x IT / UAT / PROD), working with pipelines to automate the processes as much as possible. Manage infrastructural/operational issues and outages related to all components and tools in the multiple environments, being a central point of contact for all problems reported by various consumers/squads, trying to filter and solve them, before contacting Dev team for support.

Key Deliverables

· Develop and maintain fully automated CI/CD services and processes including build monitoring, quality gates, test and deploy in all environments. · Build effective monitoring tools to check systems’ health, in order to react as fast as possible to handle outages (make monitoring triggering alerts on symptoms and not on outages) · Investigate production issues across services on all levels of the stack

· Shows ability to be an effective team member working closely with colleagues from multiple teams and disciplines, bringing added value to the team · Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English · Shows understanding of good project planning practices and team management processes, being familiar with common software development methodologies (e.g. Agile)

This position requires: · Being able to work with modern technology stack in a complex environment · Know your way around Linux and the Unix Shell, with also networking principles · Have an enthusiastic, go-for-it attitude. When you see something broken, you can help fixing it. Preferred qualifications/experience: · Multiple years working in IT in the solution development or operation support area · Experience working in international projects · Experience working with container technology like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift · Experience working with distributed systems (distributed cache, grid computing) · Experience working on Linux systems · German and/or Italian language skills

Platform Team department consists of more than 600 people and includes the Credit Risk IT organization supporting the private banking part of the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) shared service function. Our team designs, develops and supports the IT systems that measure and manage the credits, market and operational risk of the private and investment bank. The risks calculated by our systems are used in regulatory reporting, reporting to senior business and risk management and business leads. The successful candidate will be working within the Credit Risk PB IT organization in Switzerland, and in Ticino (South and Italian speaking part of Switzerland) as preferred location
