The Job:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of mobile applications, web portals and Telco BSS/OSS modules that will be deployed across iOS, Android and the responsive web. The project will be executed using the Agile SCRUM methodology and the developer will be required to participate in the SCRUM responsibilities and tasks as required. In addition the SCRUM lead is responsible for setting and maintaining the design of the application which will be developed based on a micro-services architecture with an appropriate use of containerisation for production application delivery.

Manage the Object Oriented Design of the application using domain analysis to create the appropriate micro-services architecture

Conduct daily stand-up for the SCRUM Team

Conduct Showcases for the client and retrospectives for the teams as required

Lead the SCRUM team on the functional, technical design and development of the mobile application

The Person:

Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines;

A minimum of 8 year experience in IT delivery with minimum 4 year experience in Agile delivery methods;

Server, network, and hosting environment

Understands what can break and why

Use of cloud, file systems, elastic compute/ storage

Multi threading and race conditions

Hardware and constraints

Data Modelling

Relational and non relational databases (CouchDB, REDIS, Cassandra DB etc.)

How to structure design to make up for early changes or changes in data model

How to interact with APIs and the external world

Familiarity with frameworks in delivery of applications (MVC, Orchestration etc.)

Simple clear and consistent interfaces, familiarity with Swagger is very important

User interface and user experience

Can create good UI messages and experience

Mastery of HTML5/ CSS

Useful error messages

Security concerns throughout the program

Familiar with open source security platforms WSO2 or similar

SSO and mechanisms

Mutual Authenticated TLS

OAuth 2.0

Understanding customer and business needs

Is able to be a BA and dig in to user stories for business logic

Object Oriented design skills

Quality Assurance

Test and Acceptance Driven Development

Is able to write and code test scripts

Ensures that all of the code is covered by test automation

Test coverage and test tools such as SonarQube, Katalon or Selenium

Possesses certification in Agile SCRUM or similar experience;

Good knowledge of SCRUM method and the management of backlog utilising the JIRA toolset and design documentation in Swagger and Confluence

Effective verbal and written communication in English;

Good leadership, analytical, client facing skill and problem solving skills.
