GCP PostgresSQL DBA

We are seeking a well-rounded technologist to help migrate database platforms to GCP that the Global Database Engineering Team manages. This includes the Client database migrations themselves, and also the automation of the tooling and processes which enable these migrations. The Database Engineer will support the ongoing development of the relational database platforms on GCP and provide evaluation, certification and packaging of relational database tools as well as developing and maintaining platform automation scripts to assist with application migrations to GCP Cloud SQL from Client.

Primary Responsibilities

Key Roles & Responsibilities · Develop platform solutions on GCP as the use cases arise from the ongoing migration plans · Develop best practices for PostgreSQL usage on GCP · Develop and own the processes to manage database services on GCP · Provide support to application development teams in product selection · Provide support to application development teams in migration

Job Requirements

Skills Must Have · Core PostgreSQL DBA skills · PostgreSQL performance tuning · Application development lifecycle exposure · Client AppDBA experience · SDLC knowledge – Agile preferable · Development tooling awareness. Git, Jira, Terraform

Experience / Qualifications: · 5 years PostgreSQL real world experience · Evidence of application development team support
