Infrastructure Architect – Telecommunication Infrastructure (Local)

As a Infrastructure Architect – Telecommunication Infrastructure, you will create the strategic roadmap for making digital experience a reality for our clients. You are comfortable engaging senior stakeholders from both technology and business, and credibly guiding them to meet evolving market trends. You have deep and hands-on experience designing, developing high performance and scalable infrastructure solutions. You have a track record of implementing Telecommunication Infrastructure solutioning, monitoring and integration technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

Serve as the deep Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the development of TNB core network infrastructure solutions which includes Fiber Optics, Copper, wireless,base terminal station, communication room, and DC power system

Steer and drive assigned Technical Workgroup initiatives/programs.

Provide technical support related to telecommunication infrastructure design, capacity growth, new services planning & implementation, operations, infrastructure evolution and modernization.

Project governance of initiatives and projects.

Identify and promote opportunities, including improvements in engineering, operations, network solutions and best practices;

Plan and participate in vendor evaluations including POC/Trials;

Develop common test methodology for POC/trials for effective evaluation of vendor solutions and conduct common testing to reduce repeated efforts;

Develop guides and recommended best practices;

Benchmark network performance to enhance customer experience.

Ensure proposed design gels and aligns to Application, Enterprise, Security architecture as well as the TNB & Industry policies and framework

Create architecture artefacts and documentation to effectively explain architecture design concepts and solutions to various level of stakeholders

Recommend new services to complement and enhance infrastructure elements to stream-line and support applications development and deployment

Lead continuous enhancement and exploratory work to optimize network costs, monetize network assets, improve network resilience;

Identify potential and emerging technologies relevant to innovation for the TNB

Be a trusted architect adviser to the management team and to guide the IT teams in solution design and implementation. Knowledge of technology trends and provide thought leadership to the business

Perform regular review of core network and infrastructure strategy, leading work streams to modernize and updating the overall architecture blueprint

Manage architecture and technology governance committee agenda to ensure application, data, security and technology requirements aligned to enterprise standards and policies.

How to Succeed:

Bachelor in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineer, Information Technology or related discipline

Has minimally 8 years' experience in designing/implementation/consulting of large-scale telecommunication infrastructure solutions.

The candidate should have attained professional certifications in the following areas with at least 5 years of implementation experience in:

o Fiber Optics

o BTS

o Communication Room Facility

Possess hands-on experience and good technical skills with proven track records in power utility telecommunication infrastructure and/or emerging power utility telecommunication technologies engineering.

Strong working knowledge and ability to apply architecture concepts, frameworks and methodologies to projects

Experienced in business and technical analysis, architecture design, project management

Ability to communicate telecommunication architecture methods, concepts, standards and policies

PMP, ITIL and TOGAF certification is an added advantage

Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills, able to interact professionally with all levels of the organization
