Junior Data Engineer

Requirement:

•University degree in computer science or any other equivalent degree

•Years of experience 1 year work experience (Exclude Internship/ Placement experience)

•Hands on experience in SQL

• Visualization tools like Alteryx / Power BI / Qliksense / TableauSQL is still a must.

•Knowledge in cloud technologies and development will be a plus

•Self-motivated and proactive with a strong sense of ownership and commitment

•A good team player with excellent communication skills

•Fluent in Cantonese and English, Mandarin is a plus

Roles and Responsibilities

• Developing new applications using existing data sets to create new products or improve existing services.

• Maintaining existing applications by updating existing code or adding new features to meet new requirements.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, comprising data analysts, data scientists, and IT professionals, to recognize business needs and translate them into practical data engineering solutions.

• Ensure the quality, integrity, and security of data throughout the entire data lifecycle, applying robust database concepts and data modelling expertise.

• Utilize multiple data technologies to achieve various solution objectives, including data integration, insight visualization, data platform & pipeline build, scientist model integration, GenAI initiative

• Flexible role to fulfil different project demand

Requirement:

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related fields.

• At least one years of hands-on experience in IT technology, preferably within a consulting environment / with data technology experience

• Profound understanding of SQL concepts

• Solid experience on Visualization: PowerBI / Qlik / Tableau

• Experience in one or multiple of the followings with advantage

A. Programming languages: node.js / java and Python and Spark are advantage

B. Cloud platform such as AWS or Azure using IaC or scripting

C. Database / SQL programming

D. ETL: Informatica / DataStage / DBT

E. Streaming: Kafka / Spark

F. DataOps

• Technology enthusiast with business mindset

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Experience with software development methodologies and tools.

• Fluent in Cantonese and English

• 1 year IT experience and want to change path to data engineer is welcome.
