About the role
Role: Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)
Location: London Luton Airport
Duration: 6-12 months
Working Mode: Hybrid (2 days in Office in a week)
Key responsibilities:
Measure and monitor toolchain efficiency and quality, continually enhancing and proposing recommendations
Collaborating with Ops and InfoSec to automate provisioning of ‘route to production’ environments
Responsible for setting the common standards for using the platform and toolchain, working to best practice and industry standards
Accountable to identify and agreeing a toolchain strategy with key stakeholders, implementing and continually Optimising the toolset to improve efficiency and quality
Collaborate with the delivery and support teams to optimise the overall delivery to improve quality and reducing any risk and impact to service
Manage the release engineering team, providing leadership, mentoring and coaching
Active understanding of latest technology trends and direction on travel, appropriately introduce new concepts showing business benefit
Promote DevOps culture within easyJet – providing leadership on the implementation of relevant processes and tools.
Create dashboards with key performance and availability indicators, to monitor real-time and receive alerts.
Develop and maintain design and troubleshooting documentation.
Key Skills/Knowledge:
Demonstrable experience of DevOps and cloud technologies (AWS)
You are an expert in code deployment tools (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation).
Knowledge of Logging & Monitoring with ELK or similar.
You can maintain ASP.NET web applications using Visual Studio.
You have a working knowledge of databases and SQL
Strong knowledge of Automated testing techniques and tooling.
Experience with PowerShell scripting.
Strong knowledge of Agile development (SCRUM and KANBAN)
Excellent multi-tasking and strong communication skills
Experience delivering technical training to technical teams
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent technical documentation skills
Line Management experience of a small but focussed technical team (expected to be less than 5)
You are proficient with the Windows operating system.
You possess a strong command of software-automation production systems (e.g. TeamCity).
Excellent knowledge of Git.
Experience creating highly available systems
Experience required:
Key technical requisites are strong Terraform / IaC skills and obviously strong working knowledge of AWS with two large scale implementation.
For one of the resources, we’d like to see evidence of a large-scale CI/CD pipeline migration to GitHub.
