• JOB DESCRIPTION

• The role of a Software Engineer in the IE Producer Team is to deliver new, or changes to existing, infrastructure on AWS, with a particular focus on creating EMR compute environments, Airflow batch schedules and Glue databases.

• Work is conducted in 2-week sprints, with software engineers being allocated work from a backlog, the work being described in Jira work tickets the engineers are given responsibility for.

• The activity involved in delivering the requested infrastructure is as follows:

• o Attendance at the standard agile/sprint ceremonies – daily stand-up, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives

• o Analysis of requirements

• o Engagement with the customer for any clarification or additional information

• o Identification of solutions

• o Estimation of time/effort required to deliver requirements

• o Development and testing of solutions

• o Progression of the solution from the AppD environment to Pre-Prod to Prod

• o Engage with the customer point of contact for the conduct of UAT

• o Completion of change governance documentation on ServiceNow to enable deployment into Production

• o Implementation

• o Post-implementation checks
