Detailed JD

The Splunk developer will be responsible for converting existing Elastic Dashboards/alerts into Splunk SaaS running in AWS. The developer needs to understand the logic behind the existing dashboard charts and alerts from Elastic and re-develop them in Splunk SaaS and unit test. May also need to assist the team to migrate them from Test environment to Production. Application team who developed the Dashboards/alerts originally in Elastic will assist by explaining the critical portion of the Dashboards and alerts logic to the Splunk developers (Contractors).

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

• At least 6 years experience with developing and implementing applications

• Development of Dashboards and Alerts in Splunk environment.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Understanding the Dashboards/Alerts in Elastic stack.

• Usage of dashboard tools such as Elastic Kibana, Microsoft Power BI

• Experience with Alerting systems such as Moogsoft

• Proficient with SPL functions, arguments, and clauses.

• Optimizing Search performance using Splunk Best Practices

• Understanding of data formats such as XML and JSON

• Experience with ETL processes (retrieving data from sources, transforming the data, storing data)

• Modeling: data, process, events, objects -IT standards, procedures, policy -Change control -System development life cycle -Application testing
