Storage (NetApp)

Job Responsibilities:

SME is responsible for Incident, Change, Problem, Knowledge, Availability and Capacity Management for Storage systems and SAN fabric switches.

Manage L2/L3 production/project support activities.

Lead escalations - within Storage and cross platform.

Responsible for system improvement and performance tuning on Storage devices.

Responsible for software and firmware upgrades on Storage and SAN.

Participate or lead storage projects independently.

Coordinate Hardware/Software break fix with vendors.

Work on flexible working hours including weekends.

Involved in Routine Operational support and troubleshooting.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Storage technology with a strong understanding (Hands-on support and troubleshooting experience) on EMC ECS, Cisco/Brocade, NetApp and Hitachi VSP storage.

Strong Storage concepts and experience on tools such as OCUM, SMO, BNA, Unisphere, Hitachi command suite.

Knowledge of provisioning, administration BCV & Clone Administration Performance Management, Multipath Management.

Fabric Switch Administration (CISCO, Brocade) zoning.

Hands on experience on data migration projects.

Experience of administration of NAS Protocol on storage side (CIFS, NFS).

Strong knowledge on Performance Management & Reporting.

Hands on experience on Quota Management (Hard/Soft)..

Ability to Create/Modify Zone sets, perform/plan data Replication, Monitor storage device ports.

Good knowledge on Shell or Perl scripting for monitoring or automating storage tasks.

Experience in working with storage vendors to resolve complex technical problems.

Experience in performing Root cause analysis.

Understanding of local or remote replication with one or more technologies – Hitachi GAD, HUR, NetApp snap mirror.

Should be familiar with NetApp data protection tools and technologies.

Understanding and experience working with the NetApp storage technology in 7-Mode and Clustermode.

Experience in planning and executing of firmware upgrades on storage devices.

Excellent communications, customer service & documentation skills, oral and written.

Knowledge of backup tools, such as VEAM, DPM, TSM would be an advantage.
