About the role
Roles and Responsibilities
8-10 years ‘experience relevant System development, or design experience in delivery role in financial services environment.
Experience working in an enterprise development environment; Java 8, J2EE, JavaScript, SOA services, Mircroservices, Spring, Spring Boot, MQ, SOAP and REST and Cloud hosting, Java design Patterms.
Solid expertise in both B/E (Java) and F/E (ReactJS) development with a strong awareness of emerging technologies and industry standard
Solid knowledge and hands-on skills in Core Java, Collections, Threading
Good comprehension of OO Programming, Design Principles, Design Patterns
Hands-on experience in Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Hibernate, Web Service, REST API, Micro service
Solid skills in unit testing, integration testing, behavior testing, end to end testing with JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, etc.
Knowledge of RDBMS, preferably PostgreSQL database
In depth knowledge of productivity / Quality tools & methods: e.g. JUnit, Jmeter, Mockito, LISA, Sonar, AppScan etc.
In-depth knowledge and expertise in the areas of Continuous Integration, Test Automation, Unit Testing, TDD and BDD.
Testing Automation is a Must
Good communication skills, enthusiasm for learning, team player.
Understanding of the enterprise architecture discipline, processes, concepts and best practices.
Strong understanding of software craftsmanship principles such as TDD/BDD, paired programming, clean code, etc.
Able to translate business requirement into appropriate IT solutions and user story and assign tasks to engineers to implement.
Strong knowledge of Agile development and Devops tool for example, Git, Confluence, JIRA, Jenkins or equivalent
Strong Leadership and can-do attitude
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
Coaching and feedback skills, Mentoring Junior/Mid-Engineers
Good organizational skillset Driving change and innovation; Ability to build wider networks and trusting relationships
Experience of working with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), continuous testing tools and Dev Ops tool chains
Experience working within an Agile environment
Experience using AWS cloud services, especially EC2, EKS, RDS, VPC, and Cloud Watch
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Prior working experience of banking sector will be an advantage but not a must
