About the role
- 3 x Resources - 3 Month Engagement - Developer role - Experience requirement as replacing existing contractors - Day Rate to Bank £650-700 We now need a total of 4 resource (1 we already have commercial cover for ). Key responsibilities could include: • Improving maintenance of both shared service environments to include builds upgrades and capacity planning. • Performing root cause analysis and remediate issues appropriately. • Troubleshooting and problem solving of the Splunk infrastructure configuration and performance issues. • Implementing changes using the Bank standard processes. • Producing documentation to aid the support of the Splunk environment. • Liaising with the appropriate development teams to optimise value to the business. • Ongoing evaluation and analysis of the both environments to provide optimum performance. • Providing Splunk Support to Application / Business teams for day to day issues. • Testing of third party software prior to release to the production environment. • Following change control processes with SLA defined. Essential Experience: (Must have skills) Relevant University degree and\or a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience Technical knowledge • Good Splunk 6.* • Installation, management and support of Splunk in a multi-site clustering environment • Demonstrate knowledge of implementing and supporting Splunk as a shared service • Splunk dashboard development • Red Hat, Windows • Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a production environment to provide a high availability service. • Proven background in similar large scale bank environments. • Must have success in delivering projects in a high pressure Business atmosphere. • Thorough understanding of HA and DR (SRDF) technologies. • Experience of dealing with large consolidated "Shared Infrastructure” environments. • Good knowledge of project management processes and procedures. • Good knowledge of similar Enterprise monitoring tools • Ownership of the deliveries for small to large size projects as resource commitments require you to become involved. • Competent in command line and GUI interfaces of Splunk • Proven experience of deploying and enforcing governance models in a consistent manner across a global estate. • Good understanding of Security models and auditing policies to meet standards defined by Audit. • Ability to automate repetitive tasks to remove workload from the team.
