Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Support Engineer with expertise in Veritas NetBackup and Cohesity backup platforms. The candidate will be responsible for providing operational support, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise backup and recovery systems. You will collaborate closely with IT operations, storage, and cloud teams to ensure data protection and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide L2/L3 technical support for Veritas NetBackup and Cohesity DataProtect environments.

Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of backup software and hardware components.

Monitor backup jobs and storage utilization, proactively address failures or issues.

Manage backup policies, retention rules, and recovery procedures for critical systems.

Work on incident tickets, change requests, and service requests related to backup and restore activities.

Coordinate and perform recovery drills and restore testing.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams for backup integration with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and storage systems.

Maintain documentation, SOPs, and configuration baselines.

Ensure compliance with data protection, security, and business continuity policies.

Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical incident support.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

3–7 years of experience in enterprise backup environments.

Strong hands-on experience with Veritas NetBackup (v8.x or later) and Cohesity DataProtect .

Experience in backup policy configuration, deduplication, replication, and restores.

Familiarity with storage solutions (EMC, NetApp, HPE, etc.) and SAN/NAS protocols.

Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and virtualized environments.

Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.

Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

Good understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in Veritas or Cohesity are a strong plus.

• Exposure to cloud-based backups and SaaS workloads (e.g., M365, Client).

• Experience in working in large-scale, multi-site backup environments.

• Knowledge of automation tools and backup monitoring platforms.
