Job Description – VMware/ Cloud SME (VMware Expert)

Key Skills / Responsibilities:

Experience in architecting, designing and deploying virtualized infrastructures, ideally with a special emphasis on VMware vRealize Suite and VMware vSphere

Proven experience with IT automation systems (eg. vRA, BMC, Client, IBM/Tivoli, CA)

Provide architectural guidance and oversight into integration of VMware products with third party product within the IT environment: Storage, Networking, System Management, capacity management and monitoring, high availability solutions

Involve and understand customer business and technical objectives and Product requirements, in order to develop effective solutions, Transform and Migrate to industry leading IaaS platform & processes and Build Hybrid Private/Public Cloud

Evaluate vendor products from industry leaders to implement the necessary tooling to provide automation & orchestration (evolve away from homegrown/made tooling)

Translate application development requirements into capabilities that can be delivered with the VMware and Cloud solution and show how this can provide agility, reduce time to market and deliver value to the customer

Grow organization internal skillset/IP to build and service the next generation platform and develop cloud first applications

Candidate should have a working knowledge of VMWare’s Software Defined Data Center application suite Must have experience architecting, sizing, and deploying vSphere, vRA, vRO, vRLI, vROps

Apply technical knowledge and customer insights to create a modernization road-map and architect solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments, orchestrating key resources and infusing key

Common control plane across the “as a Service” stack

Drive creation for Low level design documents for specific technologies (eg. vRA, vRO, vROps, and vRLI)

Assist in crafting of RFP for VMware products

Skill, Knowledge and Experience

• The ideal candidate would have strong domain level understanding of Public and private Cloud Infrastructure & Network Architecture, Network Design, Virtualization, Application Management and Security

• 10 years of relevant experience and At least 8+ years’ experience in customer-facing positions such as a professional services consultant, solutions architect, customer engineer, etc. in VMware and Cloud base technologies (AWS, Azure, VMware Cloud, Google cloud)

• Must have experience architecting, sizing, and deploying vSphere, vRA, vRO, vRLI, vROps

• Expert in configuring and maintaining Windows and RedHat Servers

• Good scripting knowledge.
