Job Description
The z/OS Systems Programmer should have technical and specialist skills as well as in-depth knowledge of Disk- and Tape Storage solutions on IBM z.
There can be multiple functions within the job involving multiple products and technologies. Including but not limited to programming, analysis and creating functional/technical design solutions to address specific data storage issues.
Your responsibility will be to interface with the datacentre, software development and scheduling teams to ensure a fully redundant and continuous storage management operations. In addition, you have to interact with the storage architects and support teams in the Client group and provide details about the German setup.
Your responsibilities will include:
As a Sysprog Storage Management analyst, you'll need to:
Execute z/OS backup and recovery processes, data migrations, storage allocations, connections and reporting tasks
Problem analyzation for disk- and tape problems
Coordinate microcode changes in the storage environment area
Configure disk- und tape components
Process problem- and incidents tickets for storage management und perform a pro-active monitoring of the production environment.
Implement processes and changes on request of the Client group
The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:
Must have experience of z/OS mainframe systems programming in a large Mainframe Shop. This is essential to the role
Must have a very good knowledge of the storage administration with DFSMS/HMS and experience with IBM DS8xxx and IBM TS77xx equipment.
Must have knowledge of z/OS, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, JCL
Must have good problem determination skills .
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Build effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own and others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
In addition to the details listed above, the ideal candidate should have the following complimentary skills (although these are not essential):
Experience with System Level Backup (SLB) and the maintenance of Client routines
