Location Bengaluru Job Purpose Leading the team to meet organizational goals Product development to meet business needs Training and competency development of the team Key Tasks & Responsibilities Achieve defined performance targets including First Time Right (FTR), On-Time Delivery (OTD), and productivity Plan, allocate, and monitor engineering tasks to ensure optimal utilization of resources Perform quality checks and reviews for all critical engineering deliverables Plan and drive training and competency development initiatives for team members Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and environmental regulations across design and manufacturing activities Work closely with Sales, Product Management, and Calculation teams to support new product development and improve order intake Support New Sales and After-Sales activities including customer acquisition, footprint replacement, retrofits, and refurbishments Promote a process-oriented way of working by developing and maintaining guidelines, processes, and procedures based on lessons learned Additional Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Local Requirements) Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team environment Continuous learning and staying aligned with industry advancements Perform with the highest possible work efficiency Company-Specific Tasks & Responsibilities Compliance with the Company Code of Conduct Adherence to company processes and procedures Awareness of and compliance with all Health & Safety laws and guidelines relevant to the role Competencies Engineering problem solving Communication skills (written and verbal) Cross-functional coordination Self-organization and commitment Teamwork Technical and spatial thinking Time and quality management Stress management Reliability, integrity, and trust Interpersonal skills Flexibility and adaptability Language: English (German desirable) Experience & Skills (Essential) 14–16 years of experience in turbomachinery or rotating equipment in industrial engineering environments Hands-on experience with steam turbines (design, analysis, troubleshooting, lifecycle support) Leadership of cross-functional teams of 10+ engineers Team building, mentoring, and coaching Ownership of training and competency development programs Design optimization and structured problem-solving to improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency Additional Technical Responsibilities Planning, assigning, and reviewing tasks to achieve OTD, FTR, and productivity targets Technical bid support for New Sales and After-Sales (retrofits, refurbishments, spares, reverse engineering) Lead product development initiatives and Cross-Functional Team reviews Engineering support for Vendor Development, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Field Service Strong knowledge of metallurgy and material selection Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation Application of engineering standards and best practices Standards & Compliance GD&T ASME, ANSI, DIN, ASTM, ISO IEC, NEMA, API 611, API 612, CE Manufacturing Process Knowledge Machining Casting Forging Fabrication and welding Design for manufacturability (DFM) Systems, Quality & Safety ISO systems and Integrated Management Systems (IMS) Product safety and risk assessment Compliance with quality and regulatory requirements Engineering Tools & Software NX, CREO, AutoCAD SAP PLM tools Desirable Skills Thermal calculations, HMBD, rotor dynamics, CAE, CFD Steam turbine valves, hydraulic actuators, turbine auxiliaries Experience with ANSYS Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Personal Profile Self-driven and proactive Sense of urgency Creative and idea-oriented Organized, practical, and hardworking Open, reliable, and loyal Contact us
