About the role
Role Overview: As an Oracle Database Specialist with 10+ years of experience, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise-scale Oracle database environments. Your expertise in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and troubleshooting will ensure high availability, security, and reliability of critical business applications. Key Responsibilities: - Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases across production, testing, and development environments. - Diagnose and resolve database performance issues, bottlenecks, and system failures. - Perform database tuning, optimization, and SQL query performance improvements. - Execute database upgrades, patching, migrations, backup, and recovery activities. - Develop and maintain database objects including stored procedures, packages, functions, and triggers. - Support application teams with database-related enhancements, troubleshooting, and deployments. - Ensure database security, user access management, and compliance with organizational standards. - Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies using RMAN and Data Guard. - Conduct capacity planning and scalability assessments to support business growth. - Perform incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and preventive maintenance. - Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and application support teams for seamless integrations and releases. - Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and best practices. Qualifications Required: - Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration (10g/11g/12c/19c and above). - Extensive experience in SQL and PL/SQL development. - Proven experience in database performance tuning and query optimization. - Hands-on expertise with RMAN backup and recovery, Data Guard, and replication technologies. - Strong understanding of database security, user management, and access controls. - Experience troubleshooting and resolving critical database issues in high-volume production environments. - Good knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and database administration utilities. - Experience managing large-scale enterprise database environments. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
