Position Title: Electrical Design Engineer Department: Electronics Reports To: Manager Work Location : On-site Company Name: Gyroscope.One Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and validation of electrical systems with a primary focus on transformers, motors, magnetic components, and control systems. The ideal candidate should possess strong fundamentals in electromagnetics, electrical machine design, power electronics, and motion control applications. The candidate will be responsible for developing transformer designs, evaluating motor performance, integrating sensors and control systems, and supporting product development from concept through validation. Key Requirements: Transformer Design & Development Design and develop power, isolation, and custom transformers based on application requirements. Perform transformer design calculations including core selection, winding design, wire sizing, flux density calculations, efficiency estimation, and thermal analysis. Develop transformer specifications, drawings, and technical documentation. Validate transformer performance through electrical, thermal, and reliability testing. Motor Systems Engineering Analyze, select, and evaluate AC, DC, BLDC, and Servo motors for product applications. Understand motor operating characteristics including torque, speed, efficiency, thermal behavior, and dynamic response. Support motor control system development and integration. Conduct performance testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of motor-driven systems. Collaborate on the development of motion control and electromechanical systems. Electrical System Design Design and develop electrical circuits, control systems, and power distribution architectures. Select and integrate sensors, motor drivers, power electronics, and other electrical components. Perform electrical calculations, simulations, and design verification activities. Support prototype development, testing, and product validation. Testing & Validation Develop test plans and validation procedures. Perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical failures. Generate technical reports, test records, and engineering documentation. Ensure compliance with applicable safety and engineering standards. Mandatory Technical Skills Strong knowledge of magnetic circuits, magnetics, and electromagnetic principles, with the ability to apply these fundamentals in transformer design, motor systems, and electromechanical product development. Strong understanding of transformer design principles, magnetic circuits, electrical machines, motor operation, motor control fundamentals, power electronics, control systems, sensors, and instrumentation. Hands-on experience in electrical system development, hardware debugging, performance testing, validation, troubleshooting, and integration of motors, motor drivers, and sensor-based control systems. Ability to independently design transformers, analyze motor performance, and resolve complex electromechanical system issues. Added Advantage Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, AUTOCAD or Ansys for modeling and simulation. Knowledge of Embedded Systems and microcontroller platforms such as STM32, ESP32 or C or C++ programming. Familiarity with PCB design and schematic capture tools. Experience working with IMU, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, and other motion or inertial sensors. Exposure to firmware development, data acquisition, and control algorithm implementation. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in electrical design and product development.
