About the role
As a Power BI Developer, you will play a crucial role in working with stakeholders to identify self-service analytics solutions, develop dashboards, create actionable BI reports, and ensure enterprise BI design principles are applied for scalability and maintainability across a large organization. Your responsibilities will include technical leadership and development, data governance and quality assurance, stakeholder engagement and support, as well as project management and team leadership. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions. - Build and maintain complex data models, including data warehousing, DAX calculations, and optimized Power BI solutions. - Design role-based security models and user access within Power BI to safeguard sensitive data. - Collaborate with data engineering teams using Databricks for data sourcing, cleaning, and loading to ensure high data quality. - Work with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate business requirements into actionable Power BI solutions. - Manage a team of Power BI developers and analysts, providing guidance, setting standards, and promoting best practices. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align Power BI solutions with broader data initiatives and utilize agile methodologies for project management. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus. - Professional certification such as CA, CPA, CISA, or CIA. - 5+ years of experience in Power BI development, including data modeling, DAX, and Power Query. - Strong background in data analysis, SQL, and experience with data warehousing and ETL processes. - Proficiency in DAX, M language (Power Query), and data modeling principles. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset to troubleshoot complex issues within Power BI. - Experience managing and mentoring a team, inspiring and guiding less experienced team members. - Flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing business needs and technologies, with a continuous learning attitude.
