Machine Learning Scientist III

As a member of our Machine Learning and Data Science team at Expedia Group, you will be at the forefront of using cutting-edge technology to enhance Customer Experience in the online travel industry. Your role will involve developing innovative machine learning algorithms to improve travel searches, recommendations, and advertising, addressing complex computational challenges in the travel domain. Key Responsibilities: - Model rich and complex online travel data to understand, predict, and optimize key performance indicators. - Develop end-to-end software solutions using machine learning and optimization methods. - Document technical details of your work. - Collaborate with business partners and the engineering team to ensure solutions meet business needs and are functionally feasible. Qualifications Required: - PhD or MS in computer science, statistics, or equivalent quantitative fields with a background in both machine learning and software development, or equivalent experience. - 3 years of experience applying Machine Learning in an industry. - Excellent grasp of statistical concepts and methods. - Fluent in Python/R and PySpark. - Solid understanding and experience in database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL. - Strong communication skills both written and oral. - Hands-on experience with deep-learning technologies is a plus. - Experience with distributed version control i.e. git or mercurial is a plus. - Knowledge of A/B test design, implementation, and evaluation are a plus. - Experience and application of optimization techniques such as linear programming or meta-heuristics are a plus. - Experience with data visualization tools and packages are a plus.
