The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and supporting applications on the AS400 platform. You will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, designing technical solutions, and implementing them using RPG, CL, and other AS400 technologies. Your role will also involve development and support, optimizing system performance, and ensuring data integrity and security. You will work closely with other developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our organization. The successful candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of AS400 systems and programming languages. Analyze business requirements and design technical solutions. Implement and test software solutions to ensure they meet business needs. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AS400 applications and systems. Optimize system performance and ensure data integrity and security. Collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and stakeholders. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users. Document technical specifications and procedures. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards. Stay updated with the latest AS400 technologies and best practices. Assist in the migration of legacy systems to modern platforms. Develop and maintain batch jobs and data processing routines. Required qualifications to be successful in this role Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience. Must Have Skills Strong experience in AS400 / IBM i platform development. Hands-on experience in RPG (RPG III / RPG IV / ILE RPG) programming. Good knowledge of CL / CLLE (Control Language) programming. Strong experience with DB2 on AS400, including SQL queries, stored procedures, and database design. Experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting AS400 applications. Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving application and system issues. Knowledge of batch job development, scheduling, and data processing routines. Understanding of system performance optimization, data integrity, and security practices. Experience with code reviews, debugging, and maintaining coding standards. Good to Have Skills Experience with AS400 modernization or legacy system migration projects. Exposure to integration with external systems or APIs. Knowledge of SQL performance tuning and database optimization. Familiarity with change management and version control tools. Experience working in banking, financial services, or enterprise environments. Understanding of Agile or DevOps development practices.
