SACM Specialist (Service Asset and Configuration Job Summary: The SACM Specialist is responsible for execution and continuous improvement of global Service Asset and Configuration Management processes, including IT Asset lifecycle management and CMDB governance.The role ensures accuracy and completeness of hardware asset data and configuration relationships, supporting operational processes, financial control, and risk management across the enterprise.The position contributes to end-to-end IT asset lifecycle activities including planning, acquisition, deployment, tracking, optimization, and retirement, in alignment with global standards and policies.The role supports automation, data quality checks and controls, audit readiness, and integration across ServiceNow, finance systems, and operational processes. Essential Functions of the Job: Execute global SACM processes covering asset lifecycle and configuration management.Maintain and improve data quality within CMDB and AMDB repositories, including completeness and accuracy of relationships between assets and services.Support lifecycle activities including planning, demand inputs, asset provisioning, tracking, optimisation, and retirement.Contribute to development and enhancement of SACM processes, standards, and operating procedures.Support automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve scalability of asset and configuration management operations.Perform data analysis to identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, and optimisation opportunities across AMDB and CMDB.Support audit and compliance activities including asset verification, reconciliation, and evidence preparation.Track and report on KPIs related to asset management, CMDB and AMDB health, and operational performance.Identify opportunities for asset reuse, reharvesting, and optimisation to improve utilisation and cost efficiency.Support hardware refresh and lifecycle programmes in coordination with operational and business teams.Collaborate with finance, procurement, sourcing, legal, and operational teams to ensure alignment of asset data and processes.Support vendor and service provider interactions for asset tracking, delivery, and lifecycle activities.7 years or more of practical IT Asset Management (HAM preferred) and CMDB experienceExcellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and organisational skillsProven experience in working with diverse and geographically dispersed teams in a virtual environmentProven track record of driving continuous improvement, operational excellence and identifying opportunities to avoid/save costs and reduce riskUnderstanding of IT service offerings, standards, policies, business strategies and financialsProven ability to lead the resolution of complex issues on a local/country/global basisKnowledge of: ITIL Service Management processes, Six Sigma methodology, Asset Management tools (ServiceNow preferably), analytical and BI tools (Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, Spotfire or equivalent), Common Service Data Model, AMDB/CMDB build strategy. Analytical/Decision-Making Responsibilities: Analyse AMDB and CMDB data to identify gaps, data quality issues, and control weaknesses.Provide recommendations for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiency.Support KPI tracking and performance reporting aligned to SACM objectives.Contribute to decision making on prioritisation of remediation activities and process enhancementsEnsure adherence to global policies, standards, and compliance requirements in execution activities.Ability to extend influence within the team and across teams to achieve resultsDrives Key Performance Indicators and aligns them with strategic technology goalsAbility to identify potential points of failure, areas for improving administration, and identifying pain points and bottlenecks.
