In this role as a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial part in defining the architecture, implementing strategies, and ensuring the maintenance of the infrastructure for the Private Bank's data platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). By taking ownership of infrastructure and data engineering pipelines, you will contribute significantly to the security, scalability, and success of the critical systems. Key Responsibilities: - Platform Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure and workflows on Google Cloud Platform, utilizing advanced GCP services. - CI/CD Excellence: Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub and GitHub Actions, promoting automation throughout the SDLC. - IaC Mastery: Manage and audit Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates using Terraform to ensure compliance and auditability. - Data Engineering: Demonstrate expertise in designing, developing, and deploying ETL/ELT data pipelines. - Operational Excellence: Ensure reliability, scalability, security, and compliance of infrastructure and products through enterprise monitoring tools like Google Cloud Logging. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison, collaborating with data architects, engineers, and product management teams to define infrastructure roadmaps and prioritize requirements. - Release Management: Facilitate seamless environment promotions across different tiers, ensuring code quality and deployment reliability. - Innovation & Mentorship: Stay updated with Google Cloud Platform developments, apply strategic knowledge to enhance products, and mentor junior engineers. Your Skills and Experience: - Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - Experience: Proven experience in data engineering or platform engineering roles, focusing on Google Cloud Platform within a regulated industry. Strong knowledge of ETL in Data Warehouse environments and Data Lakes. - Technical Depth: Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and Terraform. - Pipeline Expertise: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing integration, GitHub/GitHub Actions, Docker, Artifactory, and container technologies. - Orchestration: Familiarity with Apache Airflow. - Security & Compliance: Understanding and application of security and compliance best practices, including GCP security features like IAM, VPC Service Controls, encryption. - Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and cross-functional teamwork abilities.
