Lead Fullstack Engineer

Company Folens Lead Engineer (Full Stack) responsible for defining technical vision, selecting and justifying the full stack, and building an MVP for a direct-to-consumer educational platform Will lead end-to-end development including front-end, back-end, LLM integration, and deployment pipelines while optimizing for efficiency and collaborating with cross-functional teams, Key Responsibilities Design a robust, scalable web architecture tailored for high-volume student traffic around exam seasons Select and justify technology choices to balance performance, cost, and compliance Research and compare technologies to create a cost-effective, high-performance stack Produce a comprehensive stack justification document, including TCO estimates and performance benchmarks Lead full-stack development using chosen technologies Implement CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and alerting Monitor usage and performance metrics; recommend and implement optimizations Negotiate with service providers and manage spending on cloud and API usage Define technical hiring criteria; participate in interviews and onboarding Mentor contractors or interns; champion code quality, peer reviews, and documentation Work closely with curriculum experts, UX design, Product to translate pedagogical requirements into technical specs Iterate on feature set based on user feedback and cost-benefit analysis
