A Plastic Engineer is responsible for improving plastic manufacturing and processes, with a strong focus on process and production optimization. The role requires a minimum of 10–12 years of strong technical experience in plastic processing and manufacturing for primary & secondary packaging, Key Responsibilities Select appropriate plastic materials as defined in the quality plan for specific applications Lead and participate in technical discussions related to injection and compression moulding machines, moulds, and tooling etc. Optimize manufacturing processes including injection moulding, compression moulding, screen printing, in-mould labelling (IML), heat transfer labelling, etc. Set up, monitor, and control plastic processing machines and associated utilities such as chillers, compressors, and cooling towers etc. Troubleshoot production issues including product defects, machine faults, and material inconsistencies, Improve cycle time, enhance efficiency, and reduce material waste Ensure proper machine calibration and control of process parameters for each process Quality & Process Control, The plastic engineer is responsible for 1st piece approval process Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with specifications Analyse defects and implement RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) and share the reports to concern team members Maintain quality standards and all related documentation Timely conduct material and product performance evaluations, if any changes in the process Ensure familiarity with FSSC 22000, ISO 9000, Kaizen, 5S, GMP & 7 QC Tools Research and evaluate new materials and technologies to improve product quality Support product development and innovation initiatives Maintain production, quality, and customer complaint reports Prepare technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards at all times Promote safe working practices within the production environment Experience Requirement: Minimum 10–12 years of hands-on experience in injection and compression moulding processes, preferably in caps & closures, rigid packaging or similar high-volume manufacturing environments. Strong troubleshooting and process optimization skills with proven results in improving efficiency and quality.
