As we continue to scale our global platform, the Software Engineer III Developer Tooling & Quality Engineering will play a critical role in building and operating foundational platforms that accelerate engineering velocity and quality. Role Overview We are looking for a Software Engineer III who sits at the intersection of developer tooling, quality engineering, and AI-augmented workflows. You will design, build, and operate the foundational platforms and pipelines that enable engineering teams across Fanatics Commerce to ship with speed, confidence, and quality from CI/CD automation to AI-powered testing frameworks. The Software Engineer III delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights. How Will You Drive Impact Success is measured by the ability to deliver results through BOLD capabilities and measurable outcomes. Team & Leadership Impact (Build Championship Teams) Partner closely with QA and development teams to define quality standards, enable shift-left testing practices, and align platform tooling to engineering-wide goals.Communicate technical architecture and tradeoff decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including product managers and cross-functional partners.Proactively identify bottlenecks across the engineering organization and drive collaborative solutions before they impact development teams. Fan & Customer Impact (Obsessed with Fans) Build and maintain platform infrastructure that directly supports the reliability and performance of fan-facing commerce experiences across Fanatics Commerce's global footprint.Enforce quality gates on every commit through integrated automated testing unit, integration, E2E, and contract ensuring fans receive a consistently high-quality product.Develop test observability tooling including flakiness detection, coverage tracking, and failure triage so issues are caught and resolved before they reach fans.Architect cloud-native solutions on AWS following security and cost best practices that protect the integrity of fan data and platform availability. Innovation & Problem Solving (Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit) Integrate AI-powered developer tools including GitHub Copilot, Claude Cowork, Codex, and LLM-based agents into platform workflows to measurably boost engineering productivity.Build AI-assisted code review, test generation, and documentation pipelines using LLM APIs and prompt engineering techniques.Implement AI-driven quality checks for anomaly detection, intelligent flaky test classification, and automated root cause analysis.Build reusable, composable platform components APIs, SDKs, CLI tools that create leverage and accelerate velocity across engineering teams. Ownership & Execution (Determined & Relentless Mindset) Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines end-to-end from build and test through deployment and observability using GitHub Actions, GitLab, or equivalent tooling.Design, build, and maintain scalable platform services and developer tooling in Go and JavaScript/TypeScript with a high standard of production quality.Build observability into all platform services across metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, and alerting to ensure operational excellence.Take full ownership of the Quality Engineering platform, including test automation frameworks, test data management, and reporting dashboards.
