About the role
As an Analyst Programmer at Fidelity, you will be a part of the Asset Management Platform (AMP) Data Engineering team, contributing to the development and maintenance of data applications and platforms crucial for the AMP business operations. Your role involves taking ownership of subsections of the data platform, aligning with key organizational objectives, and implementing solutions based on specifications. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect: Key Responsibilities: - Develop components of data pipelines for ingestion and transformation - Execute and monitor data quality validation processes - Implement solutions based on specifications from senior engineers - Assist in translating business requirements into technical implementations - Write efficient SQL queries and Python scripts for data processing - Follow team standards and engineering best practices - Participate in code reviews to improve technical skills - Help maintain documentation for data processes and configurations - Troubleshoot basic issues in data pipelines Qualifications Required: - Cloud Platforms: Working knowledge of cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, or equivalent) - Programming: Good proficiency in Python and SQL - DevOps: Familiarity with basic CI/CD concepts - Data Security: Understanding of data access control concepts - Database Systems: Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL) - Data Integration: Basic understanding of ETL concepts - Engineering Practices: Familiarity with GitHub and version control principles - Domain Knowledge: Willingness to learn investment management industry concepts - Bonus Technical Skills: Basic understanding of containerization concepts, Interest in API development In addition to the technical skills, you are expected to possess key soft skills essential for success in this role: - Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset and eagerness to learn - Communication: Clear communication of technical concepts - Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment At Fidelity, we value your wellbeing and offer a comprehensive benefits package.
