Principal - Data Engineer

As a Principal Data Engineer at Fidelity's Wealth group, your role involves designing and implementing an advanced Data Governance and Data quality monitoring capability to support Fidelity Wealth and Brokerage. You will collaborate with technical, analytical, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into sustainable and scalable solutions. Your contributions will involve building and driving adoption of state-of-the-art tools, platforms, and processes to enable the rapid implementation of data governance practices, improved data quality, and accelerated data usage with proper risks and controls, resulting in faster insights and a competitive advantage for the firm. Key Responsibilities: - Think creatively and design end-to-end solutions - Learn and adapt to new technologies and business areas - Explore and leverage new technology trends to simplify the data ecosystem - Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver technology solutions - Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Architects to build scalable platforms - Implement system automation by establishing continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines Qualifications Required: - 10+ years of application development experience in Python, utilizing libraries/frameworks like Pandas, Numpy, and Django for data processing and analytics - Proficiency in Object-Oriented programming and Data Structures - Experience with SQL and Relational Database systems such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL - Familiarity with AWS, Snowflake, and Cloud technologies - Knowledge of DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery tools like Maven, Jenkins, GIT, Stash, Ansible, Docker, Jira - Working understanding of Fidelity paved path solutions - Background in Data Governance and Data Quality, including experience with Alation and Collibra platforms - Additional experience with Frontend technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, VueJS, Angular is a plus - Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM) and SDLC - Strong debugging and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and presentation abilities to interact and influence various stakeholders Additional Company Details: Fidelity Wealth serves the financial needs of millions of individual investors by providing a range of investment products and services.
