Principal Data Engineer

Role Overview: As a Principal Data Engineer at FC Global Services India LLP (First Citizens India), you will be responsible for developing and maintaining large scale data platforms. This includes building data pipelines to share enterprise data, designing and building cloud solutions with a focus on data access, data security, data privacy, and data governance. Your role will involve demonstrating deep technical knowledge and expertise in software development, data engineering frameworks, and best practices. You will be expected to use agile engineering practices and various data development technologies to rapidly develop creative and efficient data products. Key Responsibilities: - Build and maintain large scale data platforms, enriching data pipelines and designing data platforms such as Enterprise Data Warehouse, Operational Data Store, or Data Marts with a focus on data access, security, privacy, and governance. - Demonstrate technical knowledge and leadership in software development, data engineering frameworks, and best practices. - Collaborate with Data Architects, Solution Architects, and Data Modelers to enhance data platform design, identify tech debts, and provide technical solutions. - Participate in the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and ensure effective change control for infrastructure and application installations. - Collaborate with IT and CSO teams to ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security policies. - Manage deliverables of developers, conduct design reviews, and coordinate release management activities. - Drive automation, optimize processes and data flows, and recommend improvements using agile engineering practices. - Work with global technology teams across different time zones to deliver timely business value. Qualifications Required: - 15+ years of experience in designing and building Data Warehouse and Data lakes with knowledge of data warehouse principles, design, and concepts. - Expertise in data engineering frameworks, data integration skills, and experience with public cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, and machine learning capabilities. - Proficiency in ETL processes, architecting data pipelines, data modeling techniques, and industry-leading ETL tools. - Strong technical skills in Unix, Python, data modeling, SQL, and data visualization using tools like Power BI or Tableau. - Experience in performance tuning of data pipelines and DB objects for optimal performance. - Familiarity with data protection/compliance standards like GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and ideally experience in the Financial Industry.
