Professional, Solutions Architecture (Kubernetes)

As a Professional, Solutions Architecture (Kubernetes) at Fiserv, you will be part of the Cloud Platform team responsible for building and maintaining the Kubernetes based microservice platform. Your role involves designing and implementing the cloud-based service platform, making architectural decisions regarding Kubernetes and its ecosystem, collaborating with developers to evolve the platform, and providing technical guidance to help teammates grow. Additionally, you will scale systems sustainably through automation, evaluate and implement new technological solutions, and participate in recurring production support on call rotation. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement the cloud-based service platform. - Make architectural decisions around the use of Kubernetes and its ecosystem. - Collaborate with developers to evolve the platform. - Provide technical guidance to teammates for better processes and practices. - Scale systems sustainably through automation and contribute changes to improve reliability and velocity. - Evaluate and implement new technological solutions through proof of concept and drive to completion. - Participate in recurring production support on call rotation and conduct blameless postmortems for incidents. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience. - 3+ years of industry experience. - Production experience with Kubernetes, service meshes, and related tooling (Helm, CI/CD, Terraform, etc). - Experience in building, deploying, and maintaining large-scale platforms. - Proficiency in diagnosing technical issues, debugging, and automating routine tasks. - Fundamental understanding of networking (Load balancers, Kubernetes networking, VPCs, mTLS, etc). - Experience with major cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. - Knowledge of observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, ELK, Grafana. - Experience working with various database technologies. Preferred Qualifications: - Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, Python, Ruby, or similar). - Knowledge of multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing. - Familiarity with various technologies like Application APIs (OpenAPI, Protobuf, GraphQL), Proxy (Nginx, HAProxy, Envoy, Apache Server), and Caching (Redis, Memcache). - Knowledge of Kubernetes concepts like CRDs, Operators, Crossplane, OPA Gatekeeper.
