As a seasoned Data Engineer at Landauer, you will play a lead role in shaping the data foundation for the organization's growing portfolio of products. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading the design and implementation of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting dosimetry, dose report, and compliance data - Owning the data storage architecture across structured, unstructured, and cached tiers on AWS - Architecting event-driven data flows for asynchronous processing of compliance events, threshold breaches, and regulatory alerts - Designing and evolving data models for dose reporting, equipment calibration tracking, regulatory audit exports, and statistical outlier detection - Driving query optimization and data access strategies for APIs serving real-time compliance dashboards - Leading data infrastructure work for AI/ML features, including dataset curation, feature engineering, and pipeline design - Defining and enforcing data quality standards, schema contracts, lineage tracking, and observability practices - Ensuring compliance with data handling regulations under HIPAA, NRC, and applicable state regulations - Establishing monitoring and alerting for pipeline health, data freshness, and SLA adherence - Acting as the technical authority on internal data contracts and API schemas Qualifications required for this role include: - 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a proven track record of delivering production-grade pipelines, data models, and storage architectures - Deep SQL expertise and hands-on experience designing schemas and tuning queries at production scale - Extensive experience with AWS cloud data services for storage, compute, messaging, and eventing - Advanced Python proficiency for pipeline development and structuring code for maintainability and reuse - Strong data modeling skills across OLTP and OLAP workloads - Deep understanding of data security and compliance practices Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience building data infrastructure on AWS, operating in a serverless-first environment, and possessing AWS certifications.
